Many raffle prizes were given out and 2 Grand Prizes awarded. Check your email to see the lucky recipients.
Also, in the spirit of the season, many thanks to everyone who volunteered and contributed so that all the special programs can continue for our students at Malibu Middle and High School. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch this short video to see what your donations can provide: featuring MHS students, teachers and parents filmed by the Shark TV team. https://vimeo.com/235850666

From the Attendance office - To all parents and students:
When students are sick, they must report to the Nurse's office to check out. If the student does not go to the nurse's office and they end up leaving campus the school does not know that the student has left. The student is unaccounted for and the periods that are missed are marked as an unexcused absence. Please wait to contact your parents after you have checked in with the nurse. This is our school protocol and policy.
THE GREAT SHAKEOUT - October 19, 2017: ALL
On October 19, 2017, our school will participate in the Great California ShakeOut - a State-wide earthquake drill. Everyone will practice how to drop, cover and hold on, and teachers will discuss the importance of earthquake preparedness with our students. This is the chance for us all to practice what to do during earthquakes to reduce potential injuries.
Earthquake preparedness is a responsibility of all Californians and we encourage you to also discuss earthquake readiness with your child and others at home.

PLAN AHEAD
PTSA Presents a Parent Ed Event… Every Fifteen Minutes… Thursday, October 26 at 6:30 PM, MHS Auditorium: ALL
Please join us for this important event, where we will be screening Every Fifteen Minutes, filmed in 2015 at MHS, and featuring MHS parents and students. Every Fifteen Minutes depicts a fatal car crash involving distracted teenage drivers and focuses on the aftermath of the accident, including legal proceedings and a student funeral. Counselors and law enforcement officials will be present to discuss the presentation and take questions. This event is relevant to everyone with a teenage driver in the house! Parents from all grades are encouraged to attend and high school students are also welcome. This is not suitable for middle schoolers. Every Fifteen Minutes is usually presented in front of a live high school audience during school but the current construction project makes it impossible for us to facilitate that production this academic year. Ideally, every high school student at MHS will see this production at least once before they graduate. This is an important film and will hopefully stimulate lively discussion between parents and new drivers!
There will be a brief PTSA Association meeting at 6.30PM followed by the screening at 7PM. Snacks will be provided by PTSA and we encourage you to come and see this excellent film for yourself.
Please contact Suzanne Gelbart with any questions at galaxyg@me.com
