Monday Message: September 18

MONDAY MESSAGE September 18, 2017

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Shark Families and Friends,

I know that the year has just started but it is already time to start celebrating Shark accomplishments.  First, we have three students who have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their outstanding performance on the 2016 PSAT.  These students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who took the 2016 PSAT.  Congratulations to Bennett Cohen, Jason Leow and Louie Putterman.  Fantastic job!

We also need to recognize Alex Wiezorek, one of our 6th grade students, for being the KNX Helpful Honda Hero of the week.  Alex has been helping cancer survivors through comedy and frozen yogurt by creating an event to raise money for cancer survivors.  Great work Alex; we are very proud of you!

According to Maya Angelou, "How important it is for us to celebrate our heroes and she-roes!"  While this week, we celebrated heroes, we will have many she-roes to celebrate this year too.

GO SHARKS!

Cheli Nye, Ed.D.

SCHOOL NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

TRAFFIC SAFETY, DROP OFF AND PICK UP, PARKING AVAILABILITY: ALL

We are exploring some options with our drop off and pick up to make things run smoother.

  • Please continue to drop off in front of the school.

  • Students should use the blue walkway as to not cross over traffic.

  • You may also use the green curb all along the front of the school if you are continuing down Morning View towards Guernsey Ave.

  • Please do not make a U-turn on Morning View.

  • We still encourage parents and students who drive to school to leave early, pick up late, and plan ahead for traffic.

  • We will continue to discourage parents from dropping students off on the long drive way but rather in the front of school.

  • Please remind students to obey posted traffic and speed limit signs when driving in and around campus.  One accident is one too many!
