Monday Message: September 4

MONDAY MESSAGE September 4, 2017

PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Dear Parents and Friends,

We have had a whirlwind of a week with the announcement of our new assistant principal, Nauman Zaidi, Mr. Zaidi starting the very next day and a well attended Middle School Back to School Night.  I am excited for him to join our team and know that he will bring another layer of expertise to Malibu High.  Please welcome Mr. Zaidi when you see him.

As the school year is now in full swing, I want to encourage you to look at Illuminate and talk to your student about how things are going in class.  In addition, having time set aside to review and complete work, a location for homework coupled with a routine when coming home can set the tone for the rest of the year.  Abigail Adam  once said, “Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and diligence.”

Have a great short week!

Go Sharks!

Cheli Nye, Ed.D.

TRAFFIC SAFETY, DROP OFF AND PICK UP, PARKING AVAILABILITY: ALL

We are exploring some options with our drop off and pick up to make things run smoother.

  • Please continue to drop off in front of the school.

  • Students should use the blue walkway as to not cross over traffic.

  • You may also use the green curb all along the front of the school if you are continuing down Morning View towards Guernsey Ave.

  • Please do not U-turn on Morning View.

  • We still encourage parents and students who drive to school to leave early, pick up late, and plan ahead for traffic.

  • We will continue to discourage parents from dropping students off on the long drive way but rather in the front of school.

  • Please remind students to obey posted traffic and speed limit signs when driving in and around campus.  One accident is one too many!
