Dear Parents and Guardians,
We know that how engaged your children are in their learning environment can impact their overall achievement. At Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District we’re always striving to ensure our students can achieve their full potential — both in and out of the classroom.
That’s why we’re conducting our Student Engagement Survey, asking students in Six through Twelve to share their school experiences. This survey will help us understand how connected your children are to their studies, school activities, and personal relationships.
Students will take the brief online survey in their classrooms between Monday, March 6, and Friday, March 24. Malibu High students will take the survey on March 22 and March 23. Independent research and communications firm K12 Insight will administer the survey and compile the results. All responses are strictly confidential. K12 Insight will create a final report of the overall findings. Once we receive the report, we’ll share the results with you.
Parents do have the right to ask that their student opt out of the survey by contacting Patrick Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org, the Test Coordinator at Malibu High School.
If you have any questions about the content or purpose of the survey, please contact Evan Bartelheim, Director of Assessment, Research & Evaluation at email@example.com.
