Many parents have expressed confusion regarding excessive absence and truancy letters sent home.  More information can be found at:  California has compulsory attendance laws requiring students to attend school daily.  There are only a very small number of allowable reasons for school absence per state law.  Therefore, most absences including those verified with a note through the attendance office are consider unexcused.  After 3 unexcused absences a student is considered truant and the SARB process is initiated.  Please help to ensure your student attends school daily. Good attendance is the number one indicator of student success,

We appreciate all your efforts at home and in the community to minimize the spread of Norovirus throughout our schools including washing hands with soap and warm or cold water which is critical to preventing the future spread of the virus. This is especially important after bathroom use and prior to eating. If you have had symptoms associated with this virus (nausea or vomiting or diarrhea) YOU MUST STAY HOME FOR 48 ADDITIONAL HOURS AFTER SYMPTOMS GO AWAY. Those affected are still contagious even when they feel healthy again. We understand this can put a lot of stress on a family when kids are home from school, however, it is important to not come back early and expose others to the virus while still contagious.  If you have medical questions, please contact District Nurse, Lora Morn,, or your health care provider.

Hello Senior Parents--Before we blink our eyes, graduation will be approaching us. That said...we NEED your help to make this celebration a memory of a lifetime for our upcoming graduates. Any questions, contact Lynne Daniels /310.720.8222, or  Marie Wexler/310.425.9551, Thank you soooo much!
