MONDAY MESSAGE: March 5, 2018

Principal’s Message

Dear Shark families and friends,

I want to personally invite you to this week’s Open House event.  We will start in the auditorium at 6pm to hear some of the great achievements of Malibu High School thus far this year.  From 6:30 to 8:00, all classrooms will be open so that you can see the amazing work that has occurred in each class. While you walk through the campus, Dr. Zander’s fantastic orchestra students will be playing a variety of pieces for you pleasure.  If you have a moment, please stop by Mrs. Bowman-Smith’s classroom, Room 402, to stroll through her art gallery walk where she will have her students’ artwork on display. You are welcome in the gallery walk whether or not your student has Mrs. Bowman-Smith.  Prepare to be impressed. We look forward to seeing you this Thursday.

Next week, on March 14th, there is a National School Walkout that has been circulating.  Our students are planning to join in the walkout. This will occur around 10am and will last 17 minutes.  They are still in the planning phases, but have relayed to me that there plan is to acknowledge and remember the victims.  This is optional and it will be supervised by staff, as will the students who do not want to participate. This is a student only event, and not the time for parents to participate. We thank you in advance for recognizing this.  We will follow up with more information next we as they are still in the early planning stages.

Have a great week and Go Sharks!

Cheli Nye, Ed.D.
